On Sunday 7/2014 - I stopped at Cutler Wetlands for a half hour.
I saw 8 adult common gallinules and 5 or 6 chicks. I also saw 4 mottled ducks, 2 great egrets, 3 redwing black birds, and 15 black vultures.
The chicks were in the open water for only a few minutes then I lost them in the weeds.
