While checking out the manatees this morning behind Coral Gables High School, I was surprised to see a big American Crocodile cruising around.
Two manatees near the croc were splashing like crazy, slapping their tails on the water and almost breaching, making lots of waves. Never saw a manatee move that fast. I thought maybe they were upset by the crocodile's presence, but considering the way they were swimming on their backs in synchronized fashion, I think it's more lilely they were in love.
There was also a big snook in the canal, just below the wall -- perhaps 15 lbs.
