Green winged teals, and shovelers now in residence at Wakodahatchee. Coot, moorhen and gallinule population increasing and mating is increasing. Red-shouldered hawks are about. Two Great Blue Heron nests now abandoned (high poles) but new ones being built on the little islands. The chicks are now visible in the nest at the Northwest corner. Tern numbers increasing. It was a beautiful day on Thursday as Wako experimented with "no-jogger" day. Photographers and birders (with cameras) were abundant. Thank you Wakodahatchee! Most common warblers were palm. Virtually underfoot on the boardwalks. A group of 10 black-capped night herons over-flew the boardwalk, circled but didn't land.
