If you have a pass or get there before the guard arrives, you can save the entrance fee to the marina at Matheson and head to the kayak launch, where I've heard mangrove cuckoos and one, perhaps two yellow warblers making noise at least til 8 am. The semi resident reddish egret has also been seen splashing about on the lower tides as well.
