I worked in Coast Guard aviation in South Texas and in the mid 90's, I was lucky enough to be invovled with transporting either one or two birds (can't remember) from Corpus Christi to Brownsville, Tx where they were going as part of the project to get the species back on its feet. I actually got to put them on and take them off the aircraft -very exciting!
