Is there anyone here? It feels eerily bizarre how quiet this bird board became lately. Let me guess June challenge mode? Vacation if you a student or an educator. Some may have left for the Soccer World Cup in Brazil with the other 90,000 American fans who went down there. There may be other possibilities as well.
I have kept myself busy chasing some birds and seeing what's been hiding out there.
Everything I see have been posted on ebird.
Some of the highlights have been

One female AMERICAN KESTREL hanging out in Lake Worth on A1A. 99.9% have left the county except for that one (at least in all the miles I've put in I have not yet seen any other within the borders of PBC.

A Black-whiskered Vireo gladly calling and singing along at Riverbend Park (8 miles inland) Remember my postings from last summer where i posted one with nesting material and the other singing? This time, I did not see a female.

A lovely Florida Scrub Jay was so close to me at Jupiter Ridge Park that I had to step back to fit the beauty within the frame of my long lens. No tags on legs. Birders have reported a small colony of them residing there within PBC.

Cliff and Barn Swallows breeding off County Road 700 near bridge. One KING RAIL was preening and was awfully cooperative while providing a nice reflection of itself in a ditch off the same highway.

Some mature and immature Gull-billed Tern by the Sem Chi Rice Farm rd.

I know that birders hunker down for the summer sometimes. Stay safe and great birding to all!
Marcello
