The sandhills have a free run of the park and can be found almost anywhere between the north beach baseball fields and the gardens. Early mornings are usually the best to catch em in the gardens, but again I've seen them at the crack of dawn at the other end of the park.
As a side note, these are part of a permanent collection of birds that were acquired by a now long gone volunteer and are technically not countable but make for killer photographs!
