A pair of mangrove cuckoos were calling(croaking) in the trees behind the kayak launch at Matheson when i visited this evening in search of bonefish(in the water). I did not make an effort to locate the birds, but if past experience holds, they will be around for a while, will be vocal early and late in the day, and usually can be seen , if not photographed.As I was leaving about 7 pm someone had just rammed his car into the rear of the toll booth, thoroughly dislodging it(no one in it and no one hurt , somehow, in the car)-so if you dont have a pass, admission might be free for a few days...
