It was inevitable, with the first set of breeding swamphens at nearby Green Cay last summer, that they'd find their way to Wakodahatchee. I don't know if anyone has spotted them there so far previously, but yesterday one full grown swamphen was quite conspicuous, right in the main marsh area in the 'circle' section of the boardwalk when you first hit the t-intersection with the entrance/exit boardwalk. Lots of purple gallinule around with chicks in tow, but this was the first clear and verifiable swamphen I've seen and photographed there.
