If people really cared about their cat they would keep it inside out of harms way---Cars, other animals----not to mention all the illnesses it is exposed to are just a few dangers. Stray cats harbor more illnesses, as they do not receive vaccinations and live out in the wild. A pet cat can easily be exposed in this manner. As for the antifreeze, I would never advocate anything to harm any animal. The problem is not the cats---they are genetically designed to be as they are. However, cars do leak antifreeze onto driveways etc. at times and that poses a danger to cats. I have read it takes only a tsp. to kill a cat and antifreeze is an attractor as it has a sweet flavor. Cats are frequently run over by cars. I remember my mother accidentally ran over our pet cat when I was a child. Cats are much safer inside or trained on a leash. You can also build outdoor cat enclosures outside for cats.
