Last night, I completed my annual nightjar survey in Homestead and Everglades National Park for the Center for Conservation Biology (http://www.nightjars.org/). A total of 14 Common Nighthawks and 18 Chuck-will's -widows were heard. No Antillean Nighthawks were heard this year. The only bird seen during my survey was a Barred Owl, perched on the bus stop sign at Royal Palm.
