A walk around Greynold's Park this morning in search of the Carolina Chickadee produced:
Cooper's Hawk
Sharp-shinned Hawk
Broad-winged Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk- another pale Red-tailed; Krider's?
American Kestrel- beautiful male
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Pileated Woodpecker
Yellow-throated Vireo
Blue-headed Vireo
Purple Martin
Black-throated Green Warbler
Palm Warbler
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Northern Parula- many
Blak-and-white Warbler
American Redstart
Painted Bunting
I also found three Puerto Rican Crested Anoles near the tot lot. I don't believe they have ever been reported in northern Miami. I have seen them at Matheson Hammock and Crandon Park, but never this far north. In one tree, I saw one male and two females. I caught the male and checked the color of the dewlap ("throat fan") of the lizard and it was a bright yellow.
