Just returned from a camping trip to Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola. Wow! Dozens of rose breasted grosbeaks, scarlet tanagers, swainsons thrushes & brown thrashers & that was just in our campsite! Lots of baybreasted, yellow, chestnut sided, magnolia warblers. Veerys, wood thrushes, brown headed nuthatches, blue grosbeaks, clapper rails, yellow billed cuckoos & more! 138 species in all. It pays to sleep in a tent through 20 inches of rain & 9 hours of continual lightning & wind!
