I birded Greynolds Park shortly after the line of storms passed over the area today. In the morning the park was very quiet except for a few American Redstarts and Black and White Warblers feeding near the Boathouse. The park really picked up in bird specie diversity and numbers after 11:30am when the winds started to increase from the W-SW. Here is the list of migrants from about 3 hours of birding:
Black & White Warbler - 8 (singing)
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 10 (mostly males, some singing)
Black-throated Green Warbler - 2
American Redstart - 7 (singing)
Cape May Warbler - 15
Northern Parula Warbler - 1
Ovenbird - 2
Magnolia Warbler - 1
Prairie Warbler - 3 (singing)
W. Palm Warbler - 8 (one flock)
Black-poll Warbler - 3
Worm-eating Warbler - 7
Common Yellow-throat Warbler - 2 (singing)
White-eyed Vireo - 1 (singing)
Indigo Bunting - 2
Chuck-wills-widow - 1
Chimney Swifts - 3
Coopers Hawk - 1
Northern Catbird - 1
Cedar Waxwings - 20
It was nice to see baby Cardinals, Downy Woodpeckers, N. Blue Jays, N. Mockingbirds, and Red-bellied Woodpeckers throughout the park as well.
