The 5:15 AM radar showed bad weather (downpour over Key Biscayne) that forced some birds to land in Cape Florida. The birds seemed settled in by mid-morning and though I got a late start and had a short survey, I managed to pull out 14 warbler species. Greg, Debbie and Bryant birded the park more thoroughly so they can add more species and numbers.
Birds are starting to sing now: American Redstart, Prairie, Black-throated Blue and Blue-winged Warblers, Ovenbird, Northern Parula, Common Yellowthroat and Painted Bunting. Heard only were Bobolink and Summer Tanager.
