Last week, I invited anyone who wanted to join me to do an all-day Birdathon trip, but no one took me up on the offer, so I spent yesterday birding solo. I had a most enjoyable and a very birdy day. With the generous assistance of a couple of sponsors, I raised over $300.00 for The TAS Birdathon. Every little bit helps! What I m really hoping for now is that all of you are inspired to go out and try to beat me! There s still almost two weeks of Birdathon left, plenty of time to identify sponsors and plot out the perfect Century Day route. All of the money you raise will be used to support TAS advocacy and bird conservation efforts. Click on the Birdathon link at the top of the BirdBoard for rules, forms, etc. Remember, the birder who sees the most birds (and raises at least $500.00) will win a free birding trip to Florida s Panhandle in January 2015. The birder raising the most money (minimum $1,000.00) will win a free birding trip to Florida s Keys and the Dry Tortugas, in May 2015. This is also your opportunity to give back for all the great things that TAS does for birds and birds, so I hope you take advantage of the opportunity and join in on the fun!
