Yesterday afternoon we birded the Stanford Circle area of the University of Miami. Activity was great around the Kapok Trees and the Loquat Tree that hangs over the sidewalk on the west side of the circle. Scaly-headed Parrots, Spot-breasted and Baltimore Oriole and a Cape May Warbler were in the bare Kapok. A Scissor-tailed Flycatcher was perching along the pool area, occasionally fly catching and bathing over the canal. A Gray Kingbird was over by the Lowe Art Museum and a Red-shouldered Hawk was flying around the same area. Right around sunset Blue-and-yellow Macaws flew over campus heading southeast. Thanks to Daniel Estabrooks and his dad for tipping us off about the activity on campus.

Nature is Awesome
