At around 7:30 a.m. Christi Carmichael and I saw 1 adult and 5 young Limpkins walking alongside the Shark Valley Road, west side.
About an hour later I saw an adult King Rail at a culvert opposite the first borrow pit down the east side of the road. The bird was catching food (insects?)and feeding them to 3 fuzzy, black young.
I later found a Solitary Sandpiper, Sora (heard), and Marsh Wren (heard)further down the east side of the road.
Total species count for the morning was 43.
