Cape Florida: lingering and returning birds

Ouch! I wish this was a report confirming this morning's nice 5:30 AM radar image of migrating birds. With the southerly breeze and clear weather, it seems as though the birds continued north. Lingering birds in the park are beginning to sing, including Gray Catbirds, Ovenbirds, Prairie Warblers, Common Yellowthroats and Painted Buntings. The wintering Yellow-breasted Chat is now in full song - and very proud of his goofy melody. Gray Kingbirds have returned to the park and to the village, where they nest in front of Winn-Dixie.
