Yesterday, I went to Hungry Land Boardwalk within J.W. Corbett. Nothing amazing but I had a Northern Waterthrush that landed on a branch with some decent light, saw a pair of Great Crested Flycatchers (and later on heard a few others).

Later on, I stopped at Sem Chi Rice Production Plant and looked up to the wires. I saw a bird that had brown in it and thought it was a female Boat-tailed Grackle. Since it was at a distance, I pulled up my binoculars to verify what it was. Lo and behold, it was a female Yellow-head Blackbird. A second later after scanning the wires I found a gorgeous Spring male - that is some gorgeous-looking bird with the black and yellow. When I tried to approach the birds flew back into the plant leaving Red-winged Blackbirds and Brown-headed Cowbirds were left behind to hold the wires in place:).
I think I did see at least 2 pairs. Sorry, I was focusing seeing a great bird and was not in counting spirits.
What else? A few days ago at the Boynton Inlet I had 2 breeding plumage Royal Terns mixed in with a bunch of winter plumage counterparts and some juveniles.
Laughing Gulls have regained their black caps and have begun packing their bags on the way up north. Some Least Terns were flying about.

To add a little spice, I added a few other goodies if anyone cares

Marcello
