The two eaglets are hovering ("helicoptering") but not yet branching. They are now 11 weeks old and should be taking their first flights this coming week. If you chance to pass by the nest, please check it and report if you see one or both branching or not visible on the nest tree. It is not unusual for them to disappear for 2-3 days after fledging, until hunger drives them back on the nest, but the ground watchers will need to be more vigilant to assure that one is not grounded in the dense melaleucas or injured.
