On the front page of the Miami Herald today was an article entitled "Coffee heir guilty of possessing protected wild birds" and it involved Jose E. Souto, whose family once produced Cafe Bustelo, being fined $15,000 for possessing 34 migratory birds, ranging from cardinals, indigo buntings, painted buntings, and two species of grosbeaks. He also donated $7500 to TAS. Too bad he didn't get some jail time. His attorney was quoted as saying "He's a wonderful person according to anyone who knows him. If the birds could speak, they'd tell you the same thing." Oh please. Where's my bazooka?
