At 7:45 this evening, I was very surprised to hear a group of Amazon parrots flying over my residence after dusk. I ran outside and counted forty-eight Amazons, presumably all Orange-winged (the only species I have seen in the area in the past thirteen years or so). Until now, I thought the population of amazons in Miami Shores was no more than twenty. The birds were flying east from an area I know they must be roosting at west of I-95. I'm guessing that they were disturbed from their roost and were relocating.
Among the passerine flock in my yard today was a FOY Red-eyed Vireo.
