A female Bufflehead was found today at Windmill Park in Coconut Creek, Broward. This small community park is located on the east side of Lyon's Rd, about 0.5 mile north of Atlantic Blvd (or about the same distance north from the Fern Forest Nature Center). Also present were 28 Ruddy Duck, 30 Lesser Scaup and 13 Ring-necked Duck. Park beside the Tennis courts and walk north to the lake. Also, from the observation area on the south perimeter road of Ft.Lauderdale Executive Airport, up to 14 Burrowing Owls were visible around 8am just outside their burrows (and there are many burrows marked here). Exec Airport is also on Lyon's, about 2 miles south of Atlantic Blvd.
