Tomorrow I embark on the third day of my 12 Day Big Year. This is an idea concocted by a couple of north Florida birders, Elliott Schunke and Andy Wraithmell. Basically you can designate one day per month to count toward a cumulative Big Year of only 12 days. My route tomorrow will be primarily in southeast Florida. I'll be hitting ENP before dawn, Lucky Hammock, C 111E, Larry's place, various Miami spots for ABA exotics and other stuff, then up to Wakodahatchee, maybe Boynton Inlet, Sem Chi Rice Farm, and STA 5 and nearby kingbird roost. I've accumulated 155 species in the first two days.
