On Saturday my buddy from San Diego and I rounded up the exotics he needed for his life list.
Nanday Parakeet: 7 birds seen at 6:50am in the neighborhood directly north of Seacrest Scrub Nature Area in Boynton
Purple Swamphen: 3 birds seen at 8:00 am at City Furniture store pond on Hiatus Rd in Tamarac
White-winged Parakeet: ~20 birds at 9:30 seen going back and forth between the movie theater and the fire station. The movie theater is on Lejuene and 7th, the fire station is East of Lejuene. The guys cleaning the fountains at the movie theater said the birds come twice a year and they are just coming back. Not sure of the validity of this statement but I had checked her before multiple times with no success. They were feeding at the fire station and it looked like there were nest holes in the palms at the movie theater. There where also some Yellow Chevroned birds in the mix.
Common Myna : 10:30 am, 1 bird seen at apartment complex near the power substation south and west of Lejuene and 7th (didn't catch the exact address).
