There was a Nashville Warbler at Easterlin Park this morning in the fallen Bay tree west of the road about fifty yards before of the start of the camping area. The only other bird of interest seen there this morning was a Painted Bunting southeast of the campground. The nature trails on the northwest part of the park are partially open but no work has been done on those to the south of the campground. Most of the Strangler Figs in the lower areas of the park were blown over by Hurricane Wilma but those in the higher sections did better.

Here is a summary of the conditions of a few other Broward County parks visited recently. Fern Forest Park is open but the only areas open are the parking lot and the boardwalk to the activity building, the rest of the boardwalk and the nature trails are closed. Treetops Park is also open but the only nature trail open is the one north of the activity building, the trail to the pond boardwalk is closed but they are working on getting that trail system open. At Markham Park the nature trail in the southwest corner of the park is closed and probably will be for the foreseeable future but the levee along WCA 2-B can be reached by way of the trail starting at the bridge that runs west along the canal bank.
