Alex,
The people who first spotted this Swamphen mentioned that it had a completely white breast. That was when it was facing us.
It turned out that this bird was pulling vegetation out of the end of a white PVC pipe! His friend (the one on the right) came over to see what he was missing.
Look closely and you can see his Swamphen-red feet clasping the pipe while he extricated the vegetation from the open end.
Oh, if only we had witnessed bird-on-bird cannibalism. :-)
