Well I didn't make it out to Castellow Hammock early. I arrived about 4pm,
soon after a gentlemen from California joined me and 15 minutes later Larry
Manfredi showed up with another birder. Everyone left shortly before me without
seeing the bird. Larry did see the Nashville that John reported. I saw it as
well, but not well. I only saw the bird from behind.

I stayed until they locked the gate, and never saw the male Black-chinned
Hummingbird. I saw one candidate for an immature or female, but I didn't get
good enough looks for a photo or a good ID. The birds behavior while at a flower
demostrated the tail movement that Larry mentioned and the bill was
exceptionally long as compared to the other humming birds I saw. The head did
appear more grey than green.

I don't know. I may try again tomorrow morning if I am able. I sure would
like a good look at a male Black-chinned and a photo to go along with it. I
spoke with the park manager and he said they looked for the bird for a while
this morning, but nothing he could ID as a Black-chinned.

Below are a few photos from this evening.
