One probable 1st winter male Bufflehead diving & preening in deeper part of Windmill Park lake, away from shore, on 1-14-2014. Mostly in SE quadrant of lake (2:15 to 3:05 P.M.). Also in NE quadrant of lake (4:30 to 5:15 P.M.).
Directions: Windmill Park is at 700 Lyons RD on E side of Lyons RD, 0.4 miles N of W Atlantic BLVD (SR 814), W of Florida's Turnpike & E of SR 7 (US 441), in the City of Coconut Creek. (No fee, open sunrise to sunset. Parking, restrooms, gazebo in lake.)
