Yesterday, I came across a dozen Bonaparte's Gull floating and flying around the Boynton Inlet. They were there for at least 45 minutes while I was there. They were on the south side of the Beach area. I guess I won the Battle against the Bonapartes' (though not at Waterloo). Very graceful gulls to watch and a break from the more common Florida Gulls.

A few days ago I found a dead Royal Tern right on the beach (similar spot as stated above). I took it out and put it at a place where it was out of sight behind some foliage. Then a couple of days ago I photographed one that seemed to have oil in its legs. It wasn't looking very healthy. It allowed me to get really close to it and I was surprised that it came to me as if I was going to hand out some food. I didn't because you're not suppose to feed wildlife but it was a very, very sad image. I was wondering who do I contact next time such occurrence happens in my area - thanks!

If I may press the rewind bottom:) and take you back to Dec, 30th 2013,(near Jupiter Inlet) I could tell you that I caught a Merlin. A Merlin, you say? No, big deal. I agree with that. It wasn't a great quality shot but there certainly was a surprise element to it. See it for yourself.
I don't know what else to say, I have seen lots and lots of birds but nothing too uncommon to mention in this posting right now.
Until next time,
Marcello
