I spent a couple of hours in the landfill area this morning, and had a fairly productive day. Starting at Cutler Wetlands, there were 2 Roseate Spoonbills, 3 White Pelicans, and a small flock of Long-billed Dowitchers with 2 Greater Yellowlegs mixed in.

At the landfill, I quickly found 5 Bonaparte's Gull, 13 Mottled Ducks, 13 Green-winged Teal, 7 Shovelers, and a Lesser Scaup. 2 Bald Eagles (an almost-adult and a 3rd-going-into 4th year) were by the water, feeding on what looked like a Laughing Gull. The eagles made the place skittish, and gull flocks were constantly landing, then flying around. Both Herring and Lesser Black-backed were in the flocks.

From there, I went to Dump Marsh, which had lots of both Blue -winged and Green-winged Teal, along with lots of Coots. On the way out, I ran into Josh who said he'd just seen American Wigeon and the Caracara at the dump. I went back over and found the wigeon easily, but there was no sign of the Caracara.
