Hi there,
I've uploaded some photos of the Violet-green Swallow from this morning here: http://www.flickr.com/bonxie88
The swallow flock (60 Tree, 2 Bank, 1 N. Rough-winged) was not in evidence at dawn, but showed up over the coastal prairie around 7:45 AM. Glen Davis first spotted the Violet-green Swallow at ~8:40 AM as the flock swirled past us, and the bird was still around when we left about 45 minutes later. Since Larry Manfredi didn't see the bird later in the day, perhaps morning will be the best time to refind the bird.
We'll submit reports to the state BRC to fully document the swallow.
Good birding,
Tom Johnson
