It was nice to run into you and Brian at the inlet.
Most of the people in my CBC group left after lunch but 3 of us hung around to try to get the Eider for Count Day (as I mentioned to you, I already had it for Count Week) but after checking both the Intracoastal and Ocean sides we gave up and went home.
I really wanted that bird for the count so I went back around 5:30 just as it was starting to get dark. Lo and behold, there he was -- floating in almost the exact same spot as the day before. This was on the Intracoastal side out near the man-made island. My camera couldn't focus on him in the failing light so I didn't get a photo but there was no question -- in my mind -- that it was our continuing Common Eider.
