I went to Matheson Park this evening to look for the La Sagra's Flycatcher. I parked at the Main Entrance of Fairchild's Gardens and walked into Matheson from there and quickly heard the La Sagra's Flycatcher calling around the waters edge of the pond. I heard the bird calling for over a half an hour before seeing the bird. Finally it made an appearance, but was very uncooperative as far a me getting photos or video. I did manage an ok photo and a blurry video. Toe showed up just about the time the bird stopped calling and it never made an appearance for him. You can imagine the verbal abuse the La Sagra's received.
Yesterday I relocated the Crested Caracara at Mt. Trashmore.
So I'm doing really good so far this year on Bird A Day. Two difficult birds to find in Dade County to start the year. Maybe I should do a big Dade County Year.... NOT! Bird A Day is a good challenge for me.
