On December 27 we saw what appeared to be a black scoter swimming along Treasure Island, which is southeast of Sombrero Beach in Marathon, Florida Keys.
By the time I got the camera he was too far to get a good photo. He appeared briefly the next day, and we haven't seen him since.
He was very dark, with no markings, and a bright yellow bill.
