After two failed attempts to get a decent photo of the La Sagra's, I gave it a third try this morning. As before, I arrived early on my way to work and didn't hear or see anything. I checked the usual area where it has been seen. At about 8:45 I heard it's "Wheet" call coming from the entrance to Fairchild, and saw two birders looking up at the large fig tree right in front of the entrance door. Way on the tippy top of the tree was the La Sagra's. While others on this board, who will remain nameless, are lucky enough to have the bird do poses at eye level with great light, my first time seeing this particular individual it has to be way up there. After feeding on some figs, it flew SE past the black gate on the Fairchild property and started calling, as if to mock me. Apparently it likes the Fairchild area in the morning, and moves north into Matheson at midday, just when I'm at work and can't chase it. This bird is Evil I tell you!!!
