I actually didn't start using digital until late February. So it was more like 1500 per month.
About 1 of 20 are OK to show, or use to ID a bird, but it is about 1 of 100 that I would consider good enough to publish and probably only 1 of 500 a real photographer might appreciate.
But I don't do this for photographers; I take the photos for my own pleasure and to share with the birding community. I started a website a while back, but haven't announced it yet. It isn't ready, but I plan to share my work and also advice for others who would like to capture the fun and beauty in birding through photography.
I do have an indexing system. It isn t perfect, but it works for me.
I am working on a database program that will automate this chore, but I spend to much time birding and taking pictures to finish the project. LOL

: 15,000 a year? That's over 1200 a month, 300 a week. Who's the lucky duck (had to get a bird in here somewhere) that gets to sort, file, index, crop, print, and keep track of all those?

: Let me guess. Now the question. What is the ratio of keepers to rejects?
