This afternoon I saw a small flock of House Finches, including one yellow variant, behind my office located at 2455 E. Sunrise Blvd (International Building). The Finches were in a tree in the East Lot across the street from the building on the north side. I last saw them in this area 3 years ago. Yesterday, a stop by Cutler Wetlands around 4:45 produced 6 Franklin's Gulls among the hundreds or perhaps thousands of other gulls. Most were Ring-billed, which have replaced many of the Laughing that were there a month ago. There were also a few Herring Gulls. There are likely more Franklin's, as I didn't put much effort in looking for them. There are at least two Bald Eagles working the area between Cutler and the Landfill.
