I hope everyone can make it to long-time Miami birder Rafael Galvez's talk this Wednesday about his field guide for the Raptors of the Republic of Georgia. He's also working on a guide to all the birds of this region, the first of it's kind. While there's a glut of guides for N. America (why not, they sell), the Caucuses are one part of the world where field guides are sorely needed, conservation is in its infancy there. Rafael will be speaking at the Doc Thomas house.
As this is a bird board, a few sightings; several Common Loons off Garfield Bight in Everglades National Park, a dead immature Northern Gannet West of Old Rhodes Key, Biscayne Bay.
