Wood Duck joins mottled at Hoechoka Hammock

How strange....a wood duck flies in to join feeding mottled ducks. It was very wary. This is the first time since last spring that wood ducks have been on the Hoechoka Hammock site (NE corner in the flood canal).

Also appearing, two Egyptian Geese, four snowy egrets and a beautiful red-shouldered hawk that "knows no fear". I mean this bird had an attitude.

Catbird numbers have tapered off
