I spent a nice Sunday morning birding Lucky Hammock, the Annex, and then walking a mile or so up the C111E canal.

Lucky Hammock was good overall, with the best bird being a female WILSON'S WARBLER on the east side. Also seen were Parula, Palm and prairie Warblers, Blue-headed and White-eyed Vireos, lots of Phoebes, and House Wren. Oh, and Painted Bunting. Sandhill Cranes could be heard but not seen.

The Annex was much quieter, but I did find a BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHER (seen and heard) near the newly repaired fishing deck, across the canal. I also had Northern Waterthrush, and a single immature Short-tailed Hawk amongst the clouds of Turkey Vultures.

On the way out up 9336, the Sandhill Cranes were all seen feeding deep in the field next to the C111 canal structure.

I stopped and hiked about a mile up the C111E canal, but found nothing significant, except for a large flock of White Ibis (I estimated 300) in some puddled fields. Among them was one that looked a lot like a Sacred X White hybrid, based on the whitish body with black at the rear, and a grayer head.
