Early this morning Toe, his friend Web and myself headed to Crandon Park to
launch his boat for a day on the water fishing and birding.
Things started off with a couple of Common Loons.
Then we were fortunate to spot a couple of Surf Scoters
We did do some fishing as well. We only caught a few but it was loads of fun. We
also saw some pretty interesting fish, including this Ocean Sun Fish.
Web caught his first Sailfish.
We spotted this Bonaparte's Gull mixed in with a bunch of laughing gulls.
It was a beautiful day to be out on the water.
I picked up 4 life birds today.
Common Loon (saw 8 all together, 6 within 1500 yards of Crandon Beach and 2
out in the Gulf Stream)
Northern Gannet (now a trash bird)
Surf Scoter
Greater Black Backed Gull (sitting on a light poll on the causeway)
Thanks, Toe for a great outing.
