But alas, no Townsend's. Rock Jetty and I gave it a good effort this morning, starting ~7:00 am. The place was rather birdy, with a wave consisting of several species of warblers plus Gnatcatchers working the hammock. We did find 3 Black-throated Greens, but this does not mean there isn't a Townsend's around. None of the Black-throated Greens fit Trey's description. Also seen were Orange-crowned, Magnolia, N. Waterthrush, Yellow-throated, Black-throated Blue, Palm, Prairie, Parula, Yellow-rumped, Common Yellowthroat, Black-and-white, and Ovenbird. Also in the hammock we had a good candidate for Brown-crested Flycatcher, but it didn't call so we couldn't confirm. Trey will try again this afternoon, so I hope he can relocate the bird. In any case, it's worth the effort. At least 13 species are there which is not bad for late November, and the chance for a really good one. Good luck.
