I came down to get Common eider for my Palm Beach list and to see what else might be around. I spotted the eider under the pier around 10:50. I spent 30 minutes sea watching. One flock of ca. 50 Black scoters with no other ducks flew south. One single Surf scoter followed later. The Black scoters were fairly far out, the Surf scoter was over the surf. There were about 30 Gannets, very far offshore.

Second beach watch at Jupiter Inlet. Lots of gulls around. I was not able to pull a Franklin's out of the mix of Laughing gulls. There was an early Bonaparte's gull. One Common tern on the beach with a group of gulls and terns. One Black scoter flew south and then landed with the gulls sitting offshore near the inlet. 119 gannets in 100 minutes, almost all were at the extreme edge of observation. Two wigeon and two pintail flew by at the beginning of the watch, very near shore.
