My son Philip and I made a late afternoon run down to Mrazek Pond and West Lake yesterday to see what ducks were around. There were lots of Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Gadwall, Northern Shoveler at Mrazek Pond.
At West Lake there were, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Northern Shoveler, Redhead, Ring-necked Duck and Ruddy Duck. What was most amazing to me were the huge number of coots at West Lake. There were thousands of them near the building and out on the boardwalk. I have not seen that number of coots in years.
