Went to Black Point this morning to finally get a chance to do some "pelandgic" birding. Wherever the scoters are, they are not in the lower bay! In two hours there was nothing to look at offshore except the occasional gull, cormorant, and a group of Pied-billed Grebes.
I did have one odd sighting: a Wilson's Snipe that came winging in and landed at the very tip of the point! It took me a couple of beats to figure it out, because it was so out of place and odd looking, walking around on a rocky beach! Also coming in were 2 Greater Yellowlegs, with the usual Spotted and Ruddy Turnstone.
