Yesterday afternoon and this morning produced conditions for seawatching. Yesterday, adult Northern Gannets motored south and today there is a steady stream that includes a few young birds. I saw single Pomarine Jaegers yesterday and today and a treat was watching single Parasitic Jaegers perform acrobatic tricks while flying close to shore. There were two large flocks of small terns yesterday but none today. Young Herring Gulls are trying hard to be shearwaters but they lack the smooth moves. A very large shearwater with uniform whitish undersides and wing linings and uniform brown upperparts flew south yesterday and was a probable Cory's.

My report isn't very exciting but other birders doing seawatches will probably see some goodies. A great new reference book is the _Peterson Reference Guide to Seawatching: Eastern Waterbirds in Flight_ by Ken Behrens and Cameron Cox. Cameron - if you read this, Congratulations!
