This morning I saw a white-tailed kite in the coastal prairie across the road from Eco Pond in Flamingo. It sat on a perch for a while, then flew around the prairie, and finally disappeared. I re-sighted it about an hour later in the same area.
All-in-all, it was a good morning in Flaming (especially if you like mosquitoes). Raptors were moving through, including lots of Broad-wings, a Swainson's, and both accipiters. I counted a total of 47 species.
