I set out in search of another Bird-A-Day bird, this time in the Lucky Hammock/Annex area. Trey met up with me at the entrance to Aerojet Rd before dawn, where we hoped for a Short-eared Owl that didn't show. We then went to the Annex to check out the little marsh near the old fish farm in hopes of Virginia Rail. Again, another no-show, but I did get a Lincoln's Sparrow for Bird-A-Day. With the presser off, we proceeded to bird the area. A little later Larry showed up, and after Trey left, we went back to the Annex to see if the Willow was still there. It was, along with at least to Least Flycatcher, and both Golden-winged and Blue-winged Warblers at the speed bump. On my way out, I spotted a White-crowned Sparrow on the fence along the main road which got chased by a Shrike just as I tried to take a photo. I hate shrikes.

My Golden-winged photo truly sucks, but it's the best I could do looking into the light, with poor light at that, and with the birds moving around a lot for some reason. I couldn't even get a shot off at the Blue-winged.
